And many will fall prey to the less stable, fly-by-night, less legitimate companies that have and will continue to sprout up to take advantage of the glut of people entering the home based business market.

The unfortunate reality is that while many have and will find that right niche in their choice of home based business, many others won't. Some will go from one business to another, with them failing or the company failing them, and never find the means to generate the income they need or want.

The answer? Start with what is right for you! Ask yourself where your talents lie and what you enjoy doing. Then start looking for the opportunities that fit you. And then, investigate those opportunities to find the legitimate work from home jobs that you can get excited about.

There are as many legitimate home based businesses as not, both online and offline. Direct selling, network marketing, internet marketing and affiliate marketing have many of both. As you investigate the opportunities before jumping in, ask the following questions:

• How long has the company been in business?
• Do they have credentials and affiliations with Better Business Bureaus, Direct Selling Association?
• Do they have numerous complaints and/or lawsuits pending against them?
• Do they offer you references and time to check them out?
• Do they have substantial training and support available?

If you are uncertain or feel pressured -- the "buy today at half price" kind of pressure -- move on to the next opportunity! There are so many legitimate work from home jobs out there that you should never engage in one about which that you don't feel entirely comfortable.
